“The song is reminiscent of 90’s R&B with a H.E.R. & Jazmine Sullivan twist. I wrote the song about my current partner who made me feel like I could love again. Coming from a toxic 2 year emotionally and mentally abusive relationship, I didn’t feel safe dating someone. He helped me feel the passion, the laughter, the butterflies and the reality that love can be stable, especially when it’s two black people. My music is focused on uplifting and empower black women to feel their experiences are validated whether happy or sad. This song gives me hope that black relationships can be rooted in positivity instead of trauma.”
